Welcome to Maholi's guide to perineal cryotherapy practice 🧊
“Perineal cryotherapy, originally the sitz bath, is part of the hydrology family: using water to transport and drain toxins from the body. We apply coolness to the perineal area, which directly affects metabolism and the regulation of internal temperature, as well as intestinal motility, perineal tone, and fascia. It is an ancestral practice that was done with a bidet.”
Practice in 4 steps
1. I put the gel pack in the freezer.
Approximately 2 hours to cool the gel pack sufficiently.
💧Being 97% water, it tends to solidify and requires time to regain a more flexible texture.
💡 For future uses, you can leave the gel pack in the freezer and take it out a few minutes before use if you find it too cold.
2. I insert the gel pack into its fabric
When using it for the first time, don't hesitate to take the bag out a few minutes before use.
The fabric is Oeko-Tex certified from the Lyon region, suitable for the intimate area for a soft and cocooning cold during practice.
3. Time for practice
Place your holi directly in your panties in contact with your lips.
➡️ Make yourself comfortable if you feel the need to rest, or continue your gentle activities: cooking, reading, meditating, tidying up... The cold diffuses naturally into the pool.
🔥 As soon as the bag loses its freshness, remove it and put it back in the freezer.
❌ Avoid practicing during meals or digestion: your body needs all its energy to assimilate.
4. After practice?
1️⃣ Wash the fabric preferably at 30 degrees, prefer air drying
2️⃣ Rinse the gel pack with cold water, if desired.
3️⃣ Store the gel pack in the freezer for your next use.
Why practice?
In daily prevention
The cold promotes the stimulation of blood circulation , the secretion of certain hormones and thus promotes a good immune system .
It also stimulates the body to burn bad fats and promote lymphatic circulation which helps maintain good health.
Minimum 1.5 hours per day
Menstrual pain
Cramps, heaviness, uterine pain: cold reduces contractions and soothes inflamed tissues.
Recommended from the onset of pain, between 1 and 2 hours per day, regular use.
Pelvic pain (postpartum, vulvodynia, etc.)
Soothes sensitivities in the intimate area by calming nerve endings and inflammation .
Endometriosis, PCOS...
As an accompaniment, cold relieves pain associated with these chronic conditions. Always seek the advice of your healthcare professional.
Recommended to apply at bedtime.
Hot flashes
Cold acts quickly to lower body temperature during heat waves
Recommended to apply upon waking or as soon as you feel tired.
Pelvic varicose veins
It promotes decongestion and reduces the feeling of pelvic swelling.
Recommended in the evening or upon waking, approximately 1 to 2 hours per day.
Pelvic floor rehabilitation
Useful in addition to exercises, to tone tissues and boost vascularization.
Recommended between 1 and 3 hours per day.
Hemorrhoids, genital herpes
The coolness relieves local inflammation and promotes the repair of mucous membranes.
How long to practice?
It is a healthy lifestyle practice to be used regularly as a preventative measure or rather as a "cure" if you wish to relieve discomfort.
