The origin of the derivative bath
Share
The origin of the derivative bath, this 100% natural practice, a source of well-being and health, aims to refresh the perineal area to regulate body temperature.
By keeping the perineum cool, we see a regulation of body temperature as well as many other benefits that will quickly be felt. Practiced at first with water, you will now see that there are more suitable methods, including what is called a “derivative bath bag”.
Origin of the derivative bath: an archaic and 100% natural practice
If we go back to the origins of Man, the derivative bath was already practiced naturally. Indeed, Man walked naked in hot countries and over very long distances. He sweated a lot and his sweat flowed down his body and reached the level of his genitals. Its evaporation then provided freshness and walking ensured friction in the folds of the groin (which is located at the level of the liver meridian).
There combination of coolness and friction promotes motility (mini contractions) of the intestine and fascia*, which allows our fats to circulate, carry out their various functions and be evacuated in order to participate in the drainage of toxins.
If we take the example of animals, it is also practiced instinctively. Indeed, when they lie on the ground, their genitals are glued to the ground, which is a cool zone. This allows them to effectively regulate their body temperature.
It is ultimately an archaic “skill” of the human body, just like breastfeeding, which serves to replace the effects of walking.
Derivative bath: a practice put forward and put forward again and again
In the 19th century, German physician and naturopath Louis Kuhne described his method of friction sitz baths, which involved immersing oneself in a tub, or bidet, filled with relatively cold water (around 10 to 14°C) and rubbing the lower abdomen, hips, or genitals with a rough linen cloth. The resulting nerve stimulation from the cold water was believed to help eliminate toxins.
In 1899, he published “The New Science of Healing,” a book that Gandhi attributed a deep interest to and which has already helped thousands of people heal from illnesses. Louis Kuhne strongly asserts that “all diseases have the same origin” and that our body has infinite means to heal us. When it is prevented from doing so, it is simply because it has accumulated too many toxins…
Then, it was brought up to date by France Guillain, in the 1980s, dietician, scientist, navigator and author of numerous books on health and well-being. With the development of perineal gel packs which makes it easier to practice the derivative bath:
- Without having to get wet and be immobilized, which allows you to practice with more comfort
- By giving yourself the opportunity to do something else: no need to stay at least 20 minutes in a bidet
Derivative bath: A one-off practice or a cure?
Depending on your needs, desires, and pace, both are possible. However, it is important to keep in mind that this method is not medical or miraculous. It is part of a comprehensive and holistic approach to natural health and must be supported by an appropriate lifestyle: healthy diet, physical exercise, emotional balance, etc.
It's up to you to familiarize yourself with the practice, listen to your feelings and practice it in the way that best suits you. Some use it intensively for several weeks, several hours a day, particularly in the case of inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis to relieve pain. Others use it as a real daily tool, in the same way that a hot water bottle can help you relieve certain daily ailments: sleep problems, hot flashes, digestive and elimination problems or pain related to menstrual cycles.
At Maholi, we like to offer the practice of derivative bathing as a real well-being booster on a daily basis where everyone feels free to do it at their convenience when they feel the need and desire.
In fact, it is not necessary to wait until you are sick; on the contrary, this practice is very interesting as a healthy lifestyle. to enable you to prevent rather than cure disease. It is a hydrotherapy technique, often covered in the naturopathy training course in the “hygienist” module.
It exists some contraindications to the practice of derivative bathing:
- A complicated early pregnancy, IVF… it is better to avoid.
- Total exhaustion or end of life, in fact, the cold requires energy, if there is more, it is therefore necessary not to practice the derivative bath.
- A pacemaker, or a cardiac stimulator
- Following surgery, it is best to wait several months for healing to be complete.
Derivative bath: much more than a wellness solution
It's an ancestral know-how that costs nothing or is very affordable. In fact, today you can enjoy it yourself at home using fresh water and a washcloth or, secondly, you can buy gel packs (ice packs) adapted for this practice which consists of refreshing the perineal area.
It is ultimately a true art of living, where you will quickly feel better both in your body and your mind!
However, this practice does not replace medical advice. If you have any doubts or questions, please seek medical advice.
